From the President’s Note Pad
We’re two months into the new year, and All is well. The Chapter’s board met to discuss how we can grow the membership through new marketing ideas, increase our research knowledge, and gain more time at meetings for members to work on tracing individual family history. Our website information has been updated; the Members Only Page is ready for use; however, you will need to login. All of our chapter’s minutes, board and committee reports, monthly meeting agenda, and the surname/research groups will be posted on the Members Only Page as well.
Black History Month 2015.
The H-Town Chapter has a display set up at the Clayton Library Center. This display will be up all month. Debra Blacklock-Sloan, spearheaded this display, and if you have any items for the display please contact Debra. You may want to stop over to visit the display after our meeting Saturday.
Annual Events Calendar.
Standing calendar events will include the following:
- Family History Month
- Black History Month (February)
- Annual Christmas Fellowship Luncheon
Advance planning and resources will be necessary to support these events. Your ideas and suggestions are always welcome. .
Meeting Sign In Sheets.
Beginning with our February 2015 meeting, we will start to use two sign in sheets. One will be for members and a separate one for visitors and guests. If your name is not on the members sheet, please sign on the visitors and guest sheet, with a note if changes or corrections are needed. Thanks for your cooperation.
We will wear name tags to help us get to know one another better. On the tag along with your name, if you are an officer, include your title on the name tag. If you are a committee chairperson, include the name of your committee. Thanks
